Join us for the “Color of the Āina” tour that will end in Nilinchik\, Alaska.\nPō & the 4Fathers is a unique musical experience that delivers a lyrical message that is powerful and clear with a modern Kanaka Maoli perspective. The band is deeply rooted in Hawaiian culture\, Polynesian rhythms\, and indigenous sounds\, as well as the music that has moved generations like reggae\, soul\, blues\, funk\, and hip hop. They write songs of joy\, hardship\, pain and triumph\, learned from shared experiences from the time of Pō to the present\, and into the future.\nThrough their connection with the Mana Maoli Collective the stars above Aotearoa aligned and a convergence of indigenous Hawaiian music like no other sprung up at the Pasifika Vibes Festival. Over a kanoa of ‘awa a musical bond was established. Many influences merged into a new sound\, songs were shared and written\, and a deep brotherhood was formed. DESCRIPTION:TAVANA IS BACK!\nAG Presents and Mulligans on the Blue are excited to welcome Tavana back to the Mulligans Music Box as part of the Aloha Music Series on Wednesday\, July 23rd. Dinner seating starts at 5:30pm and the show begins at 7pm.\nWe are honored to welcome one of Hawaiiʻs most explosive talents\, Tavana\, a one-man musical wrecking crew from Honolulu\, who uses his feet to lay down a variety of grooves while simultaneously playing guitar\, banjo\, lap steel\, or ukulele and singing deep-soulful\, island-inspired rock and blues\, bridging the gap between Hawaiian Music and Delta Blues. He consistently leaves audiences in awe of his musical energy. ​ \nTavana has monthly sell-out residencies across the state of Hawaii at the Blue Note Waikiki and Mulligans Music Box in Wailea\, Maui.  Many amazing players have sat in with him to jam\, including Mike Love\, Henry Kapono\, G Love\, Ron and Thunderstorm Artis\, John Cruz\, Leonn Mobely and more.\nTavana was also a featured artist at two of Uncle Willie K’s BBQ Bluesfests\, heʻs also opened and jammed with Jack Johnson at the Waikiki Shell. He is currently featured on an in-flight video on all Hawaiian Airlines\, was a featured artist on Henry Kapono’s “The Songs of C&K”\, and is also a featured “Playing for Change” artist.\nTavana has toured with\, and recorded with Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam). In 2009\, Eddie Vedder invited Tavana to sing ‘Hawaii 78’ – a Hawaii anthem of sorts – with him at the Hawaii Theatre. From a recording of their performance together\, Vedder produced a limited vinyl record that was sent out to 10\,000 Pearl Jam fans. Vedder also took Tavana out on tour for several dates as his opening act for his solo album.\nTavana has been the supporting act for Willie Nelson\, Alabama Shakes\, Shakey Graves\, Xavier Rudd\, Jenny Lewis\, Julian Marley\, Donovan Frankenreiter\, and Nickelback\, to name just a few.\nPremium Tickets range from $30 to $25 and are available as table purchases.
