This weekly engagement became legend and was the place to be for live music. Joe is going to recreate this night of music\, “Friday Night Live\,” here on maui with his good friends Jay Molina on Bass\, Mark Johnstone on Keys\, and Marty Fera on Drums. Who knows there may even be a special guest or two showing up!!\nReservations are recommended!\nA $10 music charge will be added to your bill when you arrive.\nABOUT JOE: Joe Caro is a guitarist\, composer\, singer born and raised in New York City. Early influences included the British Invasion\,  blues and jazz. At a young age\, he started working the  studios and touring  the US\, Japan and Europe. He has recorded with Bette Midler\, Blue Öyster Cult\, Carly Simon\, Michael Franks\, Bobby McFerrin\, Gato Barbieri\, Michael McDonald\, Fania Allstars\, Chaka Khan\,  Randy Brecker\,  and many more.\nJoe has toured with Dr. John\,  Herbie Mann\, Carly Simon /James Taylor\,  Michael Franks\, Akiko Yano\, played live  or on TV for Jon Bongovi\, Clint Black\, Joan Osborne\, Pat Metheny\, Donald Fagen\, The Brecker Brothers\, The Blues Brothers\,Crosby\, Stills and Nash\, Roberta Flack\,The Eagles\, Sheryl Crow\, Olivia Newton-John\, Aretha Franklin\, Willie Dixon\,  Stanley Clarke\, Luther Vandross\, Dave Mason\, Steven Tyler\, Jonny Lang etc. and appeared in the house bands of The Late Show with David Letterman\, Saturday Night Live\, The Grammys and countless TV Commercials and Movies. Besides his work  with Paul Shaffer\, with whom he’s had a working friendship with for many years\, he’s is also  musical director for Mick Fleetwood’s “House of Rumors” band.\nHe’s released three recordings of his own\, “Home Alone”\,”Live in New York City” and “Every Dog Has His Day” on Innsbruck records and BFD on Iguana records with sidemen Wil Lee and Steve Ferrone. DESCRIPTION:“The Maui Rocker”\nMurray Thorne is a rock musician\, singer/songwriter\, entertainer\, and recording artist who now resides on the island of Maui\, Hawaii. His career has led him across North America\, playing with club acts\, major label touring bands\, and as a solo performer. Often referred to now as “The Maui Rocker”\, he is well known to both locals and visitors there for his impassioned live performances. Born in Canada\, Thorne’s earlier career highlights included playing in The Henry Small Band with drummer Zak Starkey\, then later with Penta/WEA recording artist Raymond May\, who had a top 10 single\, touring the U.S.opening for Iggy Pop\, Aerosmith\, and the Georgia Satellites. Murray was later invited by producer Bob Rock to help build his home studio on Maui\, where he wound up providing backup vocals on a track for Our Lady Peace’s Gravity album while they were recording there. Thorne ended up making Maui his own home and became a well-known regular performer there\, both as a solo entertainer and from his long stint as the exuberant frontman for local show band\, Celtic Tigers. He released a solo album\, Tin Can Telephone\, for which he won an IAIRA award for his song “Butterfly Kisses”. Thorne also gained favorable attention from both the public and press for his repeat sold-out presentations of In The Flesh\, a live solo performance of Pink Floyd’s The Wall\, which featured a film that he created to play as a backdrop for the show. He received personal praise for it from Actor/Director Woody Harrelson\, who called it “an amazing experience.”\nCome enjoy dinner\, sunset\, and live music! Joe is going to recreate this night of music\, “Friday Night Live\,” here on Maui with his good friends Jay Molina on Bass\, Mark Johnstone on Keys\, and Marty Fera on Drums. Who knows\, there may even be a special guest or two showing up!\nReservations are recommended!\nA $10 music charge will be added to your bill when you arrive.\nABOUT JOE:Joe Caro is a guitarist\, composer\, and singer born and raised in New York City. Early influences included the British Invasion\,  Blues and Jazz. At a young age\, he started working in the studios and touring the US\, Japan\, and Europe. He has recorded with Bette Midler\, Blue Öyster Cult\, Carly Simon\, Michael Franks\, Bobby McFerrin\, Gato Barbieri\, Michael McDonald\, Fania Allstars\, Chaka Khan\,  Randy Brecker\,  and many more.\nJoe has toured with Dr. John\,  Herbie Mann\, Carly Simon /James Taylor\,  Michael Franks\, Akiko Yano\, played live or on TV for Jon Bongovi\, Clint Black\, Joan Osborne\, Pat Metheny\, Donald Fagen\, The Brecker Brothers\, The Blues Brothers\, Crosby\, Stills and Nash\, Roberta Flack\, The Eagles\, Sheryl Crow\, Olivia Newton-John\, Aretha Franklin\, Willie Dixon\,  Stanley Clarke\, Luther Vandross\, Dave Mason\, Steven Tyler\, Jonny Lang etc. and appeared in the house bands of The Late Show with David Letterman\, Saturday Night Live\, The Grammys and countless TV Commercials and Movies. Besides his work with Paul Shaffer\, with whom he’s had a working friendship for many years\, he is also musical director for Mick Fleetwood’s “House of Rumors” band. \nHe’s released three recordings of his own\, “Home Alone”\, “Live in New York City”\, and “Every Dog Has His Day” on Innsbruck Records and BFD on Iguana Records with sidemen Wil Lee and Steve Ferrone. Marvin joined the band in the summer of 2022 and the trio has been playing together since.

This show is one part Brown Chicken Brown Cow Stringband (Xander\, Justin\, Matt\, and Orion; masters at their craft of Bluegrass\, Country\, and Mountain Music)) and one part Tavana (master of many instruments mixing Hawaiian and Delta Blues\, and soul) coming together as one band for an unforgettable night of music. The fellas all got together this last April at a jam session on Kaua’i and some magic happened between them all!! The wheels started turning and we all decided to throw a show for all you music lovers that is gonna make some sonic waves and have the dance floor cookin’!\nABOUT BROWN CHICKEN BROWN COW STRINGBAND\nBrown Chicken Brown Cow String Band is a national touring band whose roots originated in the Appalachian Mountains of southern West Virginia. Band members are Orion Hitzig\, Xander Hitzig\, Justin Morris\, and Matt Del Olmo\, all of whom are multi-instrumental musicians who have spent over a decade together on and off stage. During that time they have created a rare and deep bond that can be heard and observed in their music. The band members listen and react to subtle nuances in each other’s playing that create spontaneous ripples of creativity\, making their sound unique and recognizable from performance to performance. Brown Chicken Brown Cow Stringband is fresh off two performances at Alaska’s SOLD-OUT Salmomnfest\, and two performances at Ohio’s Grassfire 2025 (the event featured Greensky Bluegrass\, Del McCoury Band\, Leftover Salmon\, Peter Rowan Band\, and more).\nABOUT TAVANA\nTavana is a one-man musical wrecking crew from Honolulu\, who uses his feet to lay down a variety of grooves while simultaneously playing guitar\, banjo\, lap steel\, or ukulele and singing deep-soulful\, island-inspired rock and blues\, bridging the gap between Hawaiian Music and Delta Blues. I believe he’s on the edge of going big.” — Henry Kapono\nTavana is known for his Waikiki jam sessions and regularly jams with a who’s who of players in Hawaii\, including Eddie Vedder who invited Tavana to sing ‘Hawaii 78’ – a Hawaii anthem of sorts – with him at the Hawaii Theatre. From a recording of their performance together\, Vedder produced a limited vinyl record that was sent out to 10\,000 Pearl Jam fans. Vedder also took Tavana out on tour for several dates as his opening act for his solo album. Tavana has jammed with many musical greats\, including Jack Johnson\, Pat Simmons\, Michael McDonald\, Henry Kapono\, G Love\, Willie K\, John Cruz\, Ron and Thunderstorm Artis\, and Leon Mobley (Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals). He also has been the supporting act for Dumpstaphink\, Alabama Shakes\, Shakey Graves\, Xavier Rudd\, Jenny Lewis\, Julian Marley\, and Kaleo to name just a few.\nTickets – $35 in advance and $40 at the door\nShow starts at 7:30pm.
