SUMMARY:Doolin Rakes with Piper Roger McKinley
DESCRIPTION:Oahuʻs Doolin Rakes and Piper Roger McKinley!!\nAG Presents and Mulligans On The Blue are excited to bring Oahuʻs electric Irish pub-rock band the Doolin Rakes to the Mulligans Music Box. Playing also this night is Mauiʻs own\, The Mad Bagpiper\, Roger Mckinley. You may have seen Roger at Fleetwoodʻs on Front Street over the years\, and we are proud to welcome him to our St Paddyʻs weekend of festivities. \nDoolin Rakes is an electric Irish pub-rock band from Honolulu\, formed in the early 2000’s. No one remembers the exact date of that first performance\, but all agree that it was for a besotted carpenter’s barefoot wedding. And all remember having so much fun that it was decided over post-performance refreshments that it made sense to keep at it. \nIn the 20 years since\, Doolin Rakes has become one of Hawaii’s premier rock bands\, Irish or otherwise. The Nā Hōkū Hanohano Award-nominated band (Best Rock Album\, Irishman in Paradise) became the headliner for the (pre-Covid) Murphy’s Saint Patrick’s Day Block Party for more than a decade\, delighting 15-20\,000 revelers each year with their high-energy sound. Doolin Rakes held court for 15 years at as the Saturday “house band” at O’Toole’s Irish Pub (now Black Shamrock Tavern) on Honolulu’s “Irish Corner” and has performed more than 2500 gigs and concerts at venues all over Oahu (as well as a weeklong residency at RiRa Irish Pub in the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas). \nGuitarist Jamie Winpenny\, bassist Geoffrey Red\, drummer (and tin-whistler) Steven Howells\, and the incomparable fiddle player Lisa Gomes share many decades of professional performance experience between them. Doolin Rakes bring their irresistible enthusiasm and unique approach to traditional and original Irish-inspired music to the stage every time they play. It is always a celebration\, the Irish way. \n \nTickets are $5 and we recommended you reserve a table below.\n \n Make Reservations\n \n All Shows & Events

SUMMARY:Tavana
DESCRIPTION:Tavana\, Monthly Residency\nAG Presents and Mulligans On The Blue are excited to welcome Tavana to the Mulligans Music Box doing a “MONTHLY RESIDENCY” on Wednesday APRIL 10th. \nTavana is a one-man wrecking crew from Honolulu\, who uses his feet to lay down a variety of grooves while simultaneously playing guitar\, banjo\, lap steel\, or ukulele and singing deep-soulful\, island-inspired rock and blues. \n“I perform everything live and use no looping. Everything is played moment to moment…It’s hard to explain how fun it is to do this. It’s like having a whole band in your body and mind. And they can stop and go together on a dime!!! They can slow down\, speed up or whatever in perfect unity! Every sound comes with its own identity\, colors\, and emotions creating a much larger pallet from which to express myself. Additionally\, it gives my mind very little time to stray away from the music resulting in a truly meditative state.” \nTickets are $30 for premium\, (inside\, reserved tables\, early check-in). $25 for window tables\, and $20 for General (outside and bar area with tables available on first come first serve basis).\nTavana has performed and recorded with Eddie Vedder from Pearl Jam\, Jack Johnson\, Henry Kapono\, John Cruz and Leon Mobley (Ben Harper & the Innocent Criminals)\, and has been the supporting act for Alabama Shakes\, Shakey Graves\, Xavier Rudd\, Jenny Lewis\, Julian Marley and Kaleo to name just a few. Get ready for a dancehall\, shake-down\, rock-the-house showcase! The dancefloor will be open!!!! \nWho is Rowdy Love? Aaron Jernigan and Stina Lynn are wild souls who met on a little farm in Haiku\, Hawai’i over a decade ago. On that first meeting\, they wailed away on their guitars singing covers that they both knew by Mississippi John Hurt\, Johnny Cash\, John Prine\, and Gillian Welch. Seeing as they both had the same taste in music they decided to start singing tunes together at parties and potlucks. A few years later they ventured out into another realm of genius and wrote their first song together. Sitting at a kitchen table with a bottle of wine\, whiskey\, strawberries\, and a bowl of cigarettes\, they had their firstborn song and named it Rowdy Love. It was a hit\, and alas Rowdy Love was birthed into this world! \nJoin us May 4th at Mulligans on the Blue where theyʻll be backed by their powerhouse band… And donʻt forget to bring your dancing shoes!! \nEarlybird tickets are $10 in advance. SUMMARY:Slack\, Steel and Song: Barry Sless\, Stephen Inglis\, Alex Jordan\, Hattie Craven
DESCRIPTION:Slack\, Steel and Song: Hawai’i Meets Americana\nAG Presents and Mulligans On The Blue bring you a double dose of duets and quartet collaborations!\n\nBarry Sless ( Bob Weir and Wolf Bros\, David Nelson Band)\nStephen Inglis (Bill Kreutzmann\, The Stephen Inglis Project)\nAlex Jordan ( Midnight North\, Phil Lesh)\nHattie Craven ( Hattie and the Moonhowlers\, Joe Craven and The Sometimers)\n\nDoors open at 5:30pm and the show starts at 7:00pm. Tickets are $20 and available online at Aloha.ticketleap.com and table reservations can be made at OpenTable.com here. \nBarry Sless and Stephen Inglis\nAfter a mutual friend set them up with a duet gig at Peri’s in Fairfax\, CA in January 2024\, it was clear from the start that the duo had found the right ingredients for a special musical dish. Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar and the Pedal Steel share many deep roots\, but are seldom if ever heard together. \nTheir maiden voyage included traditional Hawaiian songs\, Inglis originals\, favorites from the Grateful Dead and Dylan songbooks and much more. Both Barry\, Stephen and everyone in attendance agreed that the music felt effortless\, captivating\, vibrant and full. It was clear that this would be the first of many shows to come. \nBarry has been making frequent trips to the islands over the past few decades as a member of The David Nelson Band and other acts\, which has kindled his love of Hawaiian music. He was a frequent member of Phil Lesh’s touring bands from the early 2000’s and currently tours as a member of Bobby Weir and Wolf Bros\, Moonalice\, and continues in the 30th year of David Nelson Band. \nBorn and raisedin Honolulu\, Stephen plays Grammy-nominated Hawaiian slack key and is equally at home playing improv-rock on the electric guitar. He is the 2021 recipient of the Ki Hōʻalu Legacy Award (Honoring those who perpetuate the art if Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar) giving him his third nod at the Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards; Hawaiʻiʻs highest musical honor. One of those is for the duet album with the legendary Dennis Kamakahi; Waimaka Helelei\, whic is on permanent display at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington\, DC. Barely out of his teens\, Stephen formed a group with legendary Grateful Dead drummer\, Bill Kreutzmann. \nHattie Craven & Alex Jordan\nA collaborative duo to be reckoned with\, Hattie Craven & Alex Jordan bring high energy musicality and a collection of original tunes and twisted covers with an stage presence. A brief meeting at a popular music festival in the foothills of California’s Sierra Nevada lead to a chance reunion years later where\, as society began to emerge from the pandemic\, the two artists connected over a love of harmony singing. \nThe daughter of legendary musician and personality Joe Craven\, Hattie has been steeped in Americana her whole life\, eventually finding a unique approach to the banjo ukulele and learning the guitar\, using both as a vehicle for her songwriting and grooving performances to compliment her remarkable and powerful voice. In addition to frequent appearances with her father\, Hattie leads “Hattie & and the Moonhowlers” who frequent the Central Valley and festival circuit in California. \nJordan\, the son of a high school music teacher\, found himself working through the brass section in middle school and high school\, focusing on Jazz Trombone before learning guitar at 17. After majoring in classical voice\, Jordan joined Bay Area favorites Midnight North and was a staple at Phil Lesh’s Terrapin Crossroads before departing from the band after six years and releasing two solo records\, most recently Queen Kerosene on March 8\, 2024. \nTogether\, they sing in tight blended harmony with Jordan playing dexterous leads over Craven’s chopping rhythm\, and are as likely to move an audience to tears as they are to get them on their feet. \n\n\n  \n \n Buy Tickets\n \n Make Reservations\n \n All Shows & Events

SUMMARY:Taimane & Her Trio - SOLD OUT
DESCRIPTION:AG Presents and Mulligans On The Blue are excited to welcome world-class ukulele virtuoso and entertainer Taimane to the Mulligans Music Box as part of our Aloha Music Series.  In addition to her shredding and stage prowess\, Taimane is also a prolific songwriter and accomplished musical theatre producer\, selling out Hawai‘i Theatre last August with her original show ‘Hawaiki -A Musical & Theatrical Odyssey’. It’s been five years since Taimane has played on Maui\, and we are honored to have her and her band join us for an unforgettable evening. \nDoors/Dinner Seating: 5pm\nShow Starts: 7:30pm\n  \n\n\n\n\nVirtuoso and songwriter\, Taimane\, is best known for her fierce and inventive style of playing the ukulele helping the hapa Samoan(part Caucasian and part indigenous Samoan) artist earn four Nā Hōkū Hanohano awards and garner over 50 million video views and nearly 500\,000 social media followers to date. Hailing from a musical Polynesian family including her late mother\, Palepa TauiliiliGardner (Miss Samoa 1978)\, Taimane’s attraction to the four-string island staple began at age 5. By age 10\, she regularly performed in public\, busking in Waikiki every Friday night with her father holding down security duties and Waikiki Beach Boys (adults whose home & workplace was the beach) serving as her band. By age 13\, Taimane landed a position in Don Ho’s show literally playing in the spotlight every week until Ho’s passing. Fast forward to today\, and you have an artist who tours the world and has carved out a unique niche in music – merging a wide array of genres\, from Bach to rock\, flamenco infernos to tribal hymns\, summoning a seemingly limitless palette of emotions via an instrument previously viewed as restricted. \n“A phenomenally talented ukulele virtuoso\, Taimane has developed a flamenco-inspired strumming technique that is breathtaking.” – Jon Woodhouse\, The Maui News \nTaimane rocks the stage with a sensual vibrancy and a white hot talent that captivates and beguiles!”—Pierce Brosnan (aka 007) \n“If you didn’t know ukulele virtuosity is a thing\, get on board. Taimane Gardner is not just in her own league on the instrument; she’s a captivating performer as well. And on top of that\, she’s a masterful songwriter and interpreter. Ukulele\, meet your triple threat.” – Grammy.com \nThere will be a Special Dinner Menu for the evening! Click here to view the menu. \n\n\n\n \n Buy Tickets\n \n All Shows & Events
