SUMMARY:Tavana
DESCRIPTION:Tavana\, Monthly Residency\nAG Presents and Mulligans On The Blue are excited to welcome Tavana to the Mulligans Music Box doing a “MONTHLY RESIDENCY” on Wednesday APRIL 10th. \nTavana is a one-man wrecking crew from Honolulu\, who uses his feet to lay down a variety of grooves while simultaneously playing guitar\, banjo\, lap steel\, or ukulele and singing deep-soulful\, island-inspired rock and blues. \n“I perform everything live and use no looping. Everything is played moment to moment…It’s hard to explain how fun it is to do this. It’s like having a whole band in your body and mind. And they can stop and go together on a dime!!! They can slow down\, speed up or whatever in perfect unity! Every sound comes with its own identity\, colors\, and emotions creating a much larger pallet from which to express myself. Additionally\, it gives my mind very little time to stray away from the music resulting in a truly meditative state.” \nTickets are $30 for premium\, (inside\, reserved tables\, early check-in). $25 for window tables\, and $20 for General (outside and bar area with tables available on first come first serve basis).\nTavana has performed and recorded with Eddie Vedder from Pearl Jam\, Jack Johnson\, Henry Kapono\, John Cruz and Leon Mobley (Ben Harper & the Innocent Criminals)\, and has been the supporting act for Alabama Shakes\, Shakey Graves\, Xavier Rudd\, Jenny Lewis\, Julian Marley and Kaleo to name just a few. He is a multi – Nā Hōkū Hanohano nominee. \n \n Buy Tickets

SUMMARY:St Paddyʻs Day 2024
DESCRIPTION:St Paddy’s Day 2024 with Rowdy Love\, Doolin Rakes\, Surfer Gaels and Piping by Roger McKinley\nCall 808.874.1131 for tickets\nDoors open at 11am – $25 Advance – $30 Door\nDrink Specials – Corned Beef & Cabbage – Shepards Pie Fish & Chips – Bangers & Mash – Vegan Bangers \nFACE PAINTING + T-SHIRT GIVEAWAYS + IRISH DANCING AT LUNCHTIME \nSurfer Gaels from Noon to 3PM \nDoolin Rakes from 4:00 – 7:00PM \nRowdy Love from 8:00 – 10:00PM \nPiper Roger McKinley will be piping at 11:30am\, 3:30pm  and 7:30pm \nROWDY LOVE: Aaron Jernigan and Stina Lynn are wild souls who met on a little farm in Haiku\, Hawai’i over a decade ago. On that first meeting\, they wailed away on their guitars singing covers that they both knew by Mississippi John Hurt\, Johnny Cash\, John Prine\, and Gillian Welch. Seeing as they both had the same taste in music they decided to start singing tunes together at parties and potlucks. A few years later they ventured out into another realm of genius and wrote their first song together. Sitting at a kitchen table with a bottle of wine\, whiskey\, strawberries\, and a bowl of cigarettes\, they had their firstborn song and named it Rowdy Love. It was a hit\, and alas Rowdy Love duo was birthed into this world! Joined by their amazing band\, Jonas\, Paul and Clint\, the music will take you on a sonic journey through Americana\, Ska\, Rock-A-Billy and with a punk edge. \nDoolin Rakes is an electric Irish pub-rock band from Honolulu\, formed in the early 2000’s. No one remembers the exact date of that first performance\, but all agree that it was for a besotted carpenter’s barefoot wedding. And all remember having so much fun that it was decided over post-performance refreshments that it made sense to keep at it. \nIn the 20 years since\, Doolin Rakes has become one of Hawaii’s premier rock bands\, Irish or otherwise. The Na Hoku Award-nominated band (Best Rock Album\, Irishman in Paradise) became the headliner for the (pre-Covid) Murphy’s Saint Patrick’s Day Block Party for more than a decade\, delighting 15-20\,000 revelers each year with their high-energy sound. Doolin Rakes held court for 15 years at as the Saturday “house band” at O’Toole’s Irish Pub (now Black Shamrock Tavern) on Honolulu’s “Irish Corner” and has performed more than 2500 gigs and concerts at venues all over Oahu (as well as a weeklong residency at RiRa Irish Pub in the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas). \nGuitarist Jamie Winpenny\, bassist Geoffrey Red\, drummer (and tin-whistler) Steven Howells\, and the incomparable fiddle player Lisa Gomes share many decades of professional performance experience between them. Doolin Rakes bring their irresistible enthusiasm and unique approach to traditional and original Irish-inspired music to the stage every time they play. It is always a celebration\, the Irish way. \nSurfer Gaels – Formed in 2022 by Lisa Gomes whose goal was to bring alive the Irish and Scottish traditional sound and energy to a new generation here in Hawaii. “Our goal is not only to preserve and advance Celtic culture and traditional music\, but to generate the craic for our audiences. We do this by combining trad with new\, including original compositions\, songs in Gaelic and music fit for step-dancing.” \nLisa Gomes – fiddle\, mandolin\, vocals – is the co-founder of Irish Hearts\, the first “trad” Irish band of Oahu in 1995\, Lisa has traveled to and studied fiddle in Ireland\, and performed at festivals there\, throughout Europe\, Canada\, and the U.S. She is currently a proud member of Doolin Rakes\, Oahu’s premiere Irish rock band as well as The Celtic Pipies and Drums of Hawaii and Hawaii Irish Dance. She also is a student of Kevin Burke (Irish fiddle). \nJoe Guilfoyle – guitar and vocals – born into a musical family in central New Jersey\, Joe was surrounded by Irish music from a young age by his accordion-playing father. He began his musical training with classical piano\, but it wasn’t until the age of 20 that he picked up a guitar and immersed himself in the vibrant east-coast Celtic music scene. Now a resident of Honolulu\, Joe is excited to bring his guitar and musicianship to Hawaii. \nNicole Wilder – vocals\, step-dancing\, and spoons – has more than 25 years experience as an Irish dancer. She grew up performing in Virginia and Maryland\, and has danced in shows\, festivals\, and pubs throughout Hawaii and across Japan. She has been singing at sessions and pub nights for years\, and on stage with the Surfer Gaels since 2022. \nMarty Guilfoyle – accordion and vocals – born and raised in Brooklyn\, NY to Irish immigrants parents\, “who immersed me in Irish music culture from the start. I was a founding member of several bands which were of some acclaim in the NY and Philadelphia regions. I have been on several albums and I continue to run sessions in the Northeast corridor.” \nGUEST – Steve Howells – penny whistle\, drums and percussion – born in Wales and raised in South Africa\, Steve has been an amazing contribution to the music scene in Hawaii for many years. He is currently the drummer/perciussionist for Doolin Rakes and The Steve Ingles Project. \n \n \n Call 808.874.1131 for Reservations\n \n All Shows & Events

After purchasing your tickets it is recommended you reserve a table as well.\nTHE UNINVITED: The Uninvited was founded in 1988 in Los Angeles when brothers John and Steve Taylor teamed up with longtime friend Bill Cory on bass and Bruce Logan on drums. In bluegrass bands since the age of 14\, the Taylor Brothers brought a unique background to band…one that wasn’t generally accepted with the hair metal and alt-rock scene burgeoning in Hollywood at the time.  For the next three years\, The Uninvited built a cult following on LA’s west side\, where guitar pop\, folk\, and rock blended with influences of the Paisley Underground. The band garnered major music industry buzz as well as critical acclaim in the Los Angeles music press. The Band went on to record and release three CDs on their independent Roarshack Records label\, and subsequently won MTV’s Beach House Band contest. Armed with their independent CD “Artificial Hip” and a brand-new Ford Econoline van\, the foursome set out to tour and never come back. The Uninvited left their hometown of Los Angeles and eventually “settled” in San Francisco (“settling” in this case meaning “where they washed their shorts in between tours”). In the next two years\, they played almost 500 shows\, thrilling audiences with their unique mix of power-pop guitars\, amplified banjos & mandolins\, soaring harmonies\, sardonic lyrics\, and energetic stage presence. \nFLAT JACKSON: In 2014\, 3\,000 feet up the side of a dormant volcano in the most remote island chain on Earth\, a group of musicians gathered on a Tuesday night around a few stringed instruments and more than a few distilled beverages. Over the course of the evening two things became clear: 1) more beverages would be needed and 2) something magical was taking place. On that Tuesday night in Maui\, Hawaii\, Flat Jackson was born. The band took their name from the plethora of dead Jackson Chameleons that litter the streets of their Kula\, Maui home. It seems that the micro triceratops love the heat of the pavement\, but their molasses-like locomotion is no match for the knobby-tired four wheel drive vehicles that rule the local asphalt. Though it started out as a bluegrass band\, Flat Jackson morphed into…something else. No doubt that rootsy quality comes through\, kinda like someone dropped an anvil on Bill Monroe’s foot\, but essentially the range of influences have rendered the band genre-less. Elements of reggae\, folk\, rock (both southern and northern)\, blues\, punk\, funk and just about everything else coagulate into a sound as unique as the island they call home. \nROWDY LOVE: Aaron Jernigan and Stina Lynn are wild souls who met on a little farm in Haiku\, Hawai’i over a decade ago. \n \n \n Buy Tickets\n \n Make Reservations\n \n All Shows & Events

SUMMARY:Murray Thorne
DESCRIPTION:“The Maui Rocker”\nMurray Thorne is a rock musician\, singer/songwriter\, entertainer\, and recording artist who now resides on the island of Maui\, Hawaii. His career has led him across North America\, playing with club acts\, major label touring bands\, and as a solo performer. Often referred to now as “The Maui Rocker”\, he is well known to both locals and visitors there for his impassioned live performances. Born in Canada\, Thorne’s earlier career highlights included playing in The Henry Small Band with drummer Zak Starkey\, then later with Penta/WEA recording artist Raymond May\, who had a top 10 single\, touring the U.S.opening for Iggy Pop\, Aerosmith\, and the Georgia Satellites. Murray was later invited by producer Bob Rock to help build his home studio on Maui\, where he wound up providing backup vocals on a track for Our Lady Peace’s Gravity album while they were recording there. Thorne ended up making Maui his own home and became a well-known regular performer there\, both as a solo entertainer and from his long stint as the exuberant frontman for local show band\, Celtic Tigers. He released a solo album\, Tin Can Telephone\, for which he won an IAIRA award for his song “Butterfly Kisses”. Thorne also gained favorable attention from both the public and press for his repeat sold-out presentations of In The Flesh\, a live solo performance of Pink Floyd’s The Wall\, which featured a film that he created to play as a backdrop for the show. He received personal praise for it from Actor/Director Woody Harrelson\, who called it “an amazing experience.” \nReserve a table below\n \n Make Reservations\n \n All Shows & Events
