SUMMARY:Reggae Legend Clinton Fearon - with Opener Marauak
DESCRIPTION:AG Presents and Mulligans on the Blue welcome reggae legend Clinton Fearon to Mulligans Music box for a very intimate show. Opening is Brazilian Reggae artist Marauak\nAG Presents and Mulligans on the Blue welcome reggae legend Clinton Fearon to Mulligans Music box for a very intimate show. Opening the show is Brazilian Reggae artist Marauak\, also playing an acoustic set.\nClinton Fearon is a composer\, songwriter\, singer and player of instruments since his early teens. Born in Jamaica\, Clinton became the bassist\, vocalist and lyricist of the mythic Gladiators at the age of 19. He spent 18 years with the band and signed several songs for The Gladiators\, hits and classics like Chatty Chatty Mouth\, Richman Poorman\, On The Other Side\, Can You Imagine How I Feel\, Let Jah Be Praised\, One Love\, Untrue Girl\, and more.\nClinton Fearon was also a session musician for different studio in Jamaica\, including with producers Coxsone Dodd at Studio One and Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry’s at Black Ark\, but also at Chanel One\, Aquarius\, Harry J\, Randy’s\, etc. In these studios\, Clinton Fearon composed some everlasting bass lines for wellknown artists like Yabby You\, Jimmy Riley\, Max Romeo\, Junior Byles and many others.\nAfter leaving Jamaica in 1987\, Clinton Fearon started a new career in Seattle. Him and some of the musicians of The Gladiators took advantage of the extra time remaining on their visa\, at the end of the US tour\, to started a band in the Northwest: The Defenders. The band built a nice following in the area until they split after five years. And finally Clinton Fearon formed his own band in the mid 90s with local musicians in Seattle: Clinton Fearon and Boogie Brown Band.\nSince 2019\, Clinton is also teaming up with the Riddim Source band\, featuring la crème de la crème of the French reggae musicians scene. Together they recorded “Breaking News” in 2022 and “Jah Is Love”\, brand new album of the reggae master to be released in June 2025. Clinton Fearon recorded 15 albums under his own name\, since and he’s touring the world with this impressive repertoire\, accompanied by a band or in solo acoustic. He performed in major festivals in each continents\, and regularly in the United States (Sierra Nevada World Music Festival\, Reggae On The River\, National Folk Festival\, Festival International de Louisiane\, Houston International Festival\, Salmonstock\, Ithaca Reggae Festival\, etc.)\, Canada (Latin Caribbean Festival\, Victoria Ska Reggae Festival\, World Beat Festival\, etc.)\, Europe (WOMAD\, Rototom Sunsplash\, Garance Reggae Festival\, Printemps de Bourges\, Stimmen festival\, Celtic Connectionetc.)\, Brazil (Virada Cultural\, Republica Do Reggae\, World Music Festival\, Feira de Santana\, etc.)\, Africa (Kenya and Ivory Coast)\, and more countries occasionally (Peru\, Honduras\, New Caledonia\, Hong Kong\, etc.).\nEach song of Clinton Fearon is a strong message coming from the heart of a man who is dedicating his life to help a better world to come. With chiselled music and poetic lyrics\, he opens reggae to a wider audience who simply loves his beautiful songs.\n“ My music is roots reggae from the island of Jamaica. I grew up deep in the hills\, up in St. Catherine\, surrounded by nature\, beauty and hard work. Even as a child\, I knew I wanted to be a musician and began my career singing in church and at school\, and eventually built my own guitar! As a teenager\, my journeys took me to Kingston where I met many musicians and began writing and recording music. The Skatalites\, Motown artists and Jamaican musicians who came before me all influenced my music. I write from my heart. The world is full of inspirations… nature\, people\, politics\, love. I write about them all. My music is good for the soul – always with a message of hope and betterment for tomorrow. It’s good for dancing\, good for listening and I think it’s good for all.”—Clinton Fearon\nABOUT MARAUAK\nBorn in the vibrant city of Salvador\, Bahia\, Brazil\, Marauak is an extraordinary recording musician\, singer\, and songwriter whose roots weave a rich tapestry of cultural influences. With an Angolan father and a mother from Rio de Janeiro\, Marauak carries a unique blend of African and Brazilian heritage that informs his music and artistic vision. Currently residing in the serene landscapes of Maui\, Hawaii\, he captivates audiences with his original songs\, delivered in both Portuguese and English.\nAs a talented looping artist and one-man band\, Marauak creates a dynamic sound that melds reggae rhythms with a distinct Brazilian flavor. His music explores themes of spirituality\, nature\, social issues\, and love\, inviting listeners on a journey of reflection and connection. In 2023\, his album “Natural” was nominated for Best World Music Album of the Year in San Diego\, California\, a testament to his artistry and the powerful message embedded in his work.\nDoors/Check-in starts at 6:00pm\nShow Starts at 7:00pm\nTickets – $25 (Until March 15) then $30 and $35 day-of\nFood and drinks are available for purchase throughout the evening\nPlease arrive early and enjoy the views\, have a drink\, and have some food!!  If you arrive during showtime we will get you to your seat in between songs.\n \n \n Buy Tickets\n \n All Shows & Events
