Andrew + Jay Molina – The World of Ukulele

AG Presents is excited to bring the Aloha Music Series to Mulligans On The Blue with Maui’s Ukulele Virtuoso Andrew & Jay Molina on Wednesday, October 16th. For this special evening, World-Class violinist Willy Wainwright will join Andrew and Jay as their guest! We are so happy to announce that due to a grant from the Maui Chamber of Commerce and the Hawaii Tourism Authority, we are able to make this show only $10.
Before the show, there will be a beginner’s ukulele lesson with Andrew. Andrew has been teaching students of all levels for many years. If you ever wanted to learn how to play ukulele this is a great opportunity! The lesson starts at 4:30pm, and is only $10. This is limited to only 10 people.
Experience one of Hawaii‘s great ukulele-fronted duos, (father + son) Andrew and Jay Molina, as they share songs, stories, and laughter while taking you on a musical journey throughout the “World of Ukulele”. For this special evening World-Class violinist Willy Wainwright will join Andrew and Jay as their guest!

Andrews 3 albums have all been nominated for “Ukulele Album of the Year” at the prestigious “Nā Hōkū Hanohano” music awards, (Hawaii’s version of the Grammy’s) and he has also been featured on the cover of England’s Uke Magazine. His music has also been featured in video promotions for Hawaiian Airlines and Ocean Vodka. His music is also feature on certain Hawaiian Airlines flights. From sweet Hawaiian sounds to Aerosmith’s “Dream On,” Guns N’ Roses “Sweet Child O’ Mine,” “Stairway To Heaven” and even the “Game of Thrones” theme, Andrew along with his dad Jay on bass and guitar prove that anything is possible on the ukulele! He is always looking to take the ukulele to the next level and inspire people of all ages by showing them what is possible on this humble little 4 string instrument.

ABOUT Willy Wainwright; Willy is a violinist who began playing the violin as a child in Chicago, Illinois. He is an accomplished musician and charismatic performer whose has mastered many styles throughout the years including classical, country, bluegrass, jazz and Irish. He has performed and toured with internationally known artists. Career highlights include performing shows at the White House, Grand Ol’ Opry, The Johnny Carson Show, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Farm Aid. Willy also plays in the groups ‘Weatherly-Wainwright’ with his wife Jennifer Weatherly and the Maui based Gypsy Jazz group, Gypsy Pacific. He has also released solo albums that feature many of his personal favorites.
