ABOUT THE BAND
Brown Chicken Brown Cow Stringband performs original music and the occasional classic of one of their influences. Their songs and melodies are influenced through the band members’ varied musical backgrounds including Bluegrass, Gypsy, Folk, Old-Time, Celtic, and even Classical. One of the strengths of the band is the devotion and level of support from their cult fanbase, regardless if the band is on the Mainland, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, or Alaska… it is amazing the support their friends, family, and fans bring to the band. Brown Chicken Brown Cow Stringband and their friends, family, and fans are a tribe, and the things they do are ‘Brown Chicken. The band is grateful and humble to have a strong relationship with the people and the land of Maui, Hawaii, and very pleased to share this performance. ABOUT KAPALI LONG
Kapali “Leadfoot” Long is a Native Hawaiian, “Hawaiiana-Americana, Country, and Blues,” singer-songwriter who is making big waves in the Country Music industry in Nashville, where he now resides. His songwriting and guitar playing are deeply rooted in his experiences, with a focus on authentic emotional expression and storytelling. His performances deliver truth, power, and the healing of music, lifting spirits and providing relief.
Kapali has opened for Artists like legend Robert Earl Keen, Ron Pope, and Howie Day. Kapali has played guitar with Caroline Liar, Nikki Lane, and was slated to be the guitarist for Muddy Waters’ son, Mojo Morganfield, before his untimely passing. He has also played at major venues and festivals from; South By Southwest, Echo Park Rising in Los Angeles, Nikki Lane’s Horseshoe Stage at Stagecoach (1st Native Hawaiian to play Stagecoach), Gibson Garage Fest, WhiskeyJam (Nashville), The Bluebird Cafe (Nashville), 3rd & Lindsley, Grand Ole Echo (The Echo), Lancaster Roots & Blues, The Troubadour, Whiskey Jam & many more.
